GUPPY
Fabric Construction
THE BRIEF
One cherished childhood memory of mine is the visits to my maternal house during summer. Upon reaching I would rush straight to the backyard, where a small pond awaited, teeming with a multitude of small, vibrant ornamental fish known as guppies. As a young child, I found myself captivated by the vibrant colors and intricate patterns adorning each of these delicate creatures. The sheer diversity and uniqueness displayed by every guppy stirred my imagination and deepened my appreciation for the wonders of nature.
The brief of this project was to draw inspiration from a favorite childhood memory, transform and translate it into textile surfaces exploring different techniques, materials, colours,s and forms.

PAPER SURFACES
Throughout the creative journey, the explorations were guided by a set of keywords derived from my inspiration. The paper explorations were made with a range of materials and techniques, to depict keywords such as "holographic," "scales," "reflective," "ombre," "flow," and more to create tactile surfaces. In the next phase, these paper explorations were translated into diverse textile surfaces.
